Bench or coffee
table with both Shaker and Japanese influence-- made with maple and spalted cherry. Sculpted tapers reveal bookmatched
grain. The "through" tenons in the base have ebonized walnut tusks and
wedges. The top is a true 1" maple slab with deep chamfers underneath
in order to give it a lighter appearance. The tenons on top have maple wedges.
The cherry base is finished with natural oil and wax and the maple seat is
finished with lacquer and wax.
